Roman copper alloy object. 22mm in length, 11mm wide and 3mm thick with a weight of 3.00grams. The object is fragmentary and rectangular in form and cross section. It has a flat upper edge with a small projection, possibly the remains of a suspension loop? sitting above a horizontal raised lip It has bevelled and tapering sides which run into an incomplete lower edge. These edges are decorated with a series of transverse incised lines and the surface of the object has two rows of figure of eight shaped stamps. The objects form would suggest part of a toilet set or possible strap end?.

Early medieval copper alloy shaft, probably from a toilet implement, dating to around 450-700AD, Length: 38 mm, width: 6 mm, weight: 3.49 grams. The object is largely rectangular in form and cross section and is incomplete with breaks at both short ends. It tapers in width towards a terminal which has an incomplete circular suspension loop emerging from what appears to be an animal head. This has a triangular cross section and widens at the end to accomodate the loop. It has two chevron shaped depressions suggesting a snout behind the loop, these run across a central ridge emerging…

Roman copper alloy fragment of a toilet article. The object consists of one end and part of the shaft. The head is oval in plan, and both head and shaft are circular in section. The surface of the object is pitted, but some dark green patina remains. The shaft is broken off with a slightly jagged break, and the remaining portion is bent to an angle of approximately 140 degrees. The object is 40mm long, 5mm wide, 5mm thick and weighs 2.49g.
