Late Roman copper alloy 'amphora' strap end. The object is an elongated triangle in form and has rounded edges and a sharp point. It is pinched in at the shoulder where it has two incised lines on each side. It is triangular in form at the top and has broken where the two pieces split to hold the strap.. length: 54 mm; width: 11 mm; thickness: 1 mm; weight: 3.47 g. Found before 1990.

Roman copper alloy strap end? fragment, 15mm long, 15mm wide and 2mm wide. The object is in fair condition and weighs 1.33grams. The object consists of an incomplete suspension loop which sits on a rectangular sectioned ridge, which is incomplete. Below this the object forms a plate which has a curved upper edge and has snapped off cleanly on all sides, but has a circular cut away section in the middle of what is present. The object appears to be a military fitting, perhaps a strap end?

Roman to Medieval lead alloy strap end, 55 mm long, 25 mm wide and 5 mm thick. The object is in fair condition and weighs 34.93 grams. The object represents just over half? of an amphora shaped strap end of uncertain date. It has a rectangular shaped upper portion with a slit in the slightly wider upper edge for taking the strap. Roman copper alloy incomplete amphora-shaped strap end. The object is a flattened oval in plan which tapers into a collared knop on the lower end. The top end has broken off leaving two semicircular indentations along the edge and a blunt projection on one side. The surface has been decorated with a punched design consisting of three large circles down the middle which have a smaller circle in the centre. The plate is amphora shaped with ring and dot decoration on one face comprising two concentric circles around a dot with five punched crescents irregularly spaced around the dot, their points facing outwards. A possible Post Medieval copper alloy strap end or hooked clasp, 28mm long, 14mm wide and 0.5mm thick. The object is in fair condition and weighs 1.35 grams. The object consists of a sub triangular plate which has two rounded protrusions on its upper edge, giving it an overall 'heart' shape. At this point there is one circuler sectioned rivet in the centre of one of the curves and a hole, where a second seems to have broken off, in the other. Post medieval copper alloy strap end? 39mm long and 17mm wide. The object is in fair condition with a brown/green patina and traces of gilding and weighs 9.98grams. The object is almost lozenge shaped in form, being made up of two horizonal shafts, one wider than the other with a pointed terminal at one end and a pointed shaft at the other. It is split into two halves for half of its length with fragments of leather filling the void. At this point the object is 9mm thick but narrows to 3mm thick at the other end. Post Medieval silver strap end or lace tag, 29mm long and 4mm in diameter with a weight of 2.97grams. The object consists of a circular sectioned shaft which becomes rectangular in section towards one end. It has a circular hole just below its rounded end and its other end terminates in a globular attachment, 7mm in diameter. Dora Thornton has dated this item to 16-17th centuries.

Medieval copper alloy strapend fragment, 19mm long, 15mm wide and 2mm thick. The object is in fair condition with a green patina and weighs 2.47 grams. It is sub rectangular in form with a rounded lower end. It consists of two sheets of metal held together with one central copper alloy rivet. It appears to have broken off at its upper end as it has an irregular edge and only one rivet is present.
