Medieval copper alloy chatelaine, 44mm long, 26mm wide and 8mm thick. The object is in very good condition with a green patina and weighs 34.97grams. The object is oval in form and sub-rectangular in section. It has been cast in one piece and consists of an oval shaped loop with a sub-rectangular sectioned central cross bar which seperates a circular and an oval hole. The oval hole is an incomplete loop, having a small gap cast into it with triangular sectioned terminals, presumambly to guide objects in and prevent them slipping off. Roman copper alloy chatelaine, 93mm long, 23mm wide and 8mm thick. The object is in fair condition with a dark green patina and some corrosion and weighs 21.76 grams. The object consists of a sub-rectangular plate which has a semi-circular protrusion to accomodate a suspension loop in the centre of its upper edge. It has four large circular cut outs which leave a roughly cruciform shape. The lower edge of the plate has a circular sectioned band decorated with vertical incised lines.
