Neolithic flint axe, 129mm long, 59mm wide and 27mm thick, with a weight of 218g. The axe is complete and is sub rectangular in form, with a rounded blade and ovoid in cross section. It is made from a dark brown flint and has been invasively re-touched and then polished at the blade. It has been finely worked along its blade and on one face of one side with shallow, stepped re touch. The other side less so and appears to have been damaged along this edge due to a weakness in the flint?

Early Neolithic stone axehead, 72mm long, 43mm wide and 20mm thick. The object is in good condition with a weight of 89.366grams. The axe is complete except for a chip on one side near its butt end. It is produced from a fine grained brown/green stone. It is unfacetted and has a rounded surface which terminates in a very faint ridge down each side, giving it a pointed oval cross-section. It has a gently rounded blade which is intact and still crisp. The axe appears to be Group VI volcanic tuff, probably making it a product of the Langdale axe factory.
