Neolithic stone axehead, 139mm long, 50mm wide and 37mm thick. The object is complete and in good condition and weighs 374grams. The axe has a triangular form and an eliptical section and is made from a form of fine granite. The butt end tapers gently to a rouned apex and the whole surface is gently rounded. At one side of the blade there is a trace of a facet and the blade itself is intact and finely worked. Around the blade is considerable poloishing, slightly more on one surface than the other.

Lower Paleolithic quartzite pebble chopper-core, 78mm long, 46mm wide and 39mm thick. The stone weighs 171grams and has been worked from three angles to remove at least 9 flakes to form a triangular point which appears to have some wear. We refer to these as chopper-cores as we can't be certain whether the whole object is being used or the flakes are being used as cutting tools. The object is part of a growing number of Quartzite tools which are being found in this area. Neolithic polished stone axehead, 78mm long, 49mm wide and 22mm thick. The axe is in fair condition, is almost complete and weighs 103grams. The axe head is triangular in form and sub rectangular in section. It has a bulging, rounded form with narrow straight sides. One face has a clear crescent shaped platform located along its width below the blade. The blade is intact and has a gently curving edge. Three undated stone whetstones, all are incomplete - missing their ends, have a rectangular section and rectangular form and show signs of heavy use. 1 56mm long, 11mm thick and 20mm wide, weight 32.07grams. 2 90mm long, 17mm thick and 33mm wide weight 117grams 3 90mm long, 20mm thick and 27mm wide, weight 99.3grams.

Neolithic stone axe fragment, 67mm long, 46mm wide and 25mm thick. The object is in a poor fragmentary condition and weighs 82grams. The object consists of the central part of a polished axe which is badly chipped. It is rectangular in form and rectangular in section, with narrow flat polished edges. The source material is possibly Charnwood.

Late Neolithic- early Bronze age stone axe hammer, 107mm long, 84mm wide and 55mm thick. The object is in good condition and weighs 651grams. The object is ovoid in form and rectangular in section (with one edge being slightly bowed), with a circular hole, 27mm in diameter, cut through the centre of its ovoid face. It has slightly polished surfaces around its pointed tip, suggesting some wear.

Late Iron Age beehive quern, 155mm high and 270mm in diameter at its base. The object represents the upper part of a Hunsbury type beehive quern. It has roughly carved tapering sides with a sub rectangular hole in its side to take a handle and a hole in its base for the grain to pass through. It is probably made from Derbyshire millstone grit and was found in garden in Brixworth, Northants. The object was in-situ when the house was purchased so its original location is unknown.

Incomplete Neolithic polished stone axe, consisting of about two-thirds of a whole axe, but missing its blade end, suggesting it was broken while in use. The axe is probably of Langdale (or Charnwood?) slate and has a pale green/grey colouring with a diagonal white stripe near the rounded butt. It has irregular faceted edges with one surface having a flattened irregular shaped area. The fragment is 85mm long, 44mm wide and 26mm thick. It is in good condition and weighs 114g.

Stone perforated object, perhaps aloom weight of probably prehistoric date, the object is incomplete and measures 122mm by 57mm with a thickness of 44mm. The object is has a brown patina and weighs 447grams. It appears to have been formed from a naturally sub rectangular or triangular pebble and has a ground circular hole in its centre which has an hour glass profile.
