Unidentified and undated Iron object. It has a circular plate which is decorated on one side with a double lined cross with radiating incised lines in each quarter. Attached to this is a shaft of indeterminate form as it is covered in corrosion. The circular plate was revealed by cleaning undertaken by the finder. Length: 33 mm Width: 17 mm Thickness: 8 mm Weight: 5.06 g

Early medieval? iron object, Length: 112 mm, width: 53 mm, thickness: 5.0 mm, weight: 53.10 grams. The object is rectangular in cross section and oval (leaf shaped) in form. It has an integral oval hole, set in a rounded projection at one narrow end. The opposite end is rectangular in form and incpomplete. It is a possibility that the 'loop' has been formed by bending a linear projection over the plate, but x-rays revealed no eivdenece of this. Early Medieval iron object, possibly a bill? length: 79 mm, width: 35 mm, thickness: 6.0 mm, weight: 26.71 grams The object is in poor condition and is currently rectangular in form and cross section, with one intact rounded side projection, 27 long, 18 wide and 4mm thick. The opposite side has the probable remains of a second projection. Kevin Leahy notes it may have been 'part of a bill as found in the Flixborough hoard or the improbably light 'plough share' in the Westley Waterless hoard.' Early Medieval to Medieval Iron stirrup, 138mm in length, 144mm wide and c.10mm thick with a weight of 131grams. The object has a sub-rectangular cross section and a sub-spherical form. It has an integral, rectangular projection at its apex, for suspension from a strap and in the centre of its flatter lower edge, a flat circular base plate, 52mm in diameter. John Clark (formely of the Museum of London) has commented that the stirrup has 'the rounded form of the footrest more common in medieval stirrups (ridden in shoes with soft soles)' but that a 'rather 'primitive' loop to take…

Early Medieval? iron spearhead fragment, 260mm long and 70mm wide. The second object is a sub rectangular fragment, 130mm long with a spherical protrusion near its broken edges and with one intact? flat edge. The spearhead? and several fragments of iron were sent to Lincoln for x-ray analysis in the hope that a firmer date could be established. But this was inconclusive.

Early medieval iron shield boss, 21 mm wide, 117mm in diameter, 115mm deep and weighing 248 grams. The boss is circular in form and triangular in cross section. It has a small section of flat rim present at its base, which is 21 mm wide. Above this there is a straight sided section c.20mm high, which turns outwards to form a lipped projection. This forms the base of the cone. This tapers inwards and terminates with a short rod at its apex. This houses a sub-spherical projection with a flat circular base. Group of possible Roman iron nails.The largest weighing 33.01 grams,9mm in width and 120mm in length. It has a bent lozenge shaped head and a tapering shaft.The second biggest measuring at 39.1mm in length and 6mm width, weighing in at 11.08 grams. The smallest of the nails measures 28mm in length,with a width of 4mm and weighing in at 4.87 grams. AD 43-410. They are similar to that of IOW-9D9353!
