Group of possible Roman iron nails.The largest weighing 33.01 grams,9mm in width and 120mm in length. It has a bent lozenge shaped head and a tapering shaft.The second biggest measuring at 39.1mm in length and 6mm width, weighing in at 11.08 grams. The smallest of the nails measures 28mm in length,with a width of 4mm and weighing in at 4.87 grams. AD 43-410. They are similar to that of IOW-9D9353!

Early medieval copper alloy/iron brooch fragment?, 18mm long, 17mm wide 4mm thick. It is in fair condition with a weight of 2.37grams. The object material resembles iron and where its damaged its structure does look like iron, but it has traces of copper corrosion suggesting it may have copper alloy core? The object consists of a rectangular head which has a hole through its centre. It has a blade which emerges from one side and tapers outwards, thining to form a wide blade. The object is difficult to date, but its good preservation could suggest its towards the more recent date.

Early Medieval or Medieval iron axe head, 155mm long, 45mm wide at the butt and 55mm high. The object is in fair condition and weighs 736grams. The axe consists of a rectangular shaped butt which has a rectangular shaped recess for a shaft. Each side of the butt has rounded upper and lower edges, giving it a sub circular form from the side. The blade is narrow and widens out towards its tip, flaring downwards on its lower edge. Early Medieval? iron spearhead fragment, 260mm long and 70mm wide. The second object is a sub rectangular fragment, 130mm long with a spherical protrusion near its broken edges and with one intact? flat edge. The spearhead? and several fragments of iron were sent to Lincoln for x-ray analysis in the hope that a firmer date could be established. But this was inconclusive.
