The object is a typical cannon, circular in cross section and rectangular in form with tapering barrel. It has two circular cross sectioned projections which would have supported the cannon. The object is circular in form and rectangular in cross section with a rectangular cross sectioned lip around its upper edge. Inside this lip the object has a circular depression c.6mm in diameter and is stamped with an Adverpois (A), a sword in St Georges crest, a ewer and a crowned W. It weighs just under 1 ounce, which was issued as a new weight standard from 1826. This one is from the reign of William IV, dating it to 1830-7.
