Leaf shaped copper alloy mount, 37mm long and 28mm wide. The object is very thin and is heavily embossed. The edges have angular scalloping with a series of raised and sunken lines running across the surface to the centre, similar to a scallop shell. There is one raised dot in each of the sunken lines which form a semi circle around the object, close to the outside edge. Two Early Medieval to Medieval lead alloy spindle whorls. The smaller one is 28mm in diameter and is circular in form and sub rectangular in cross section with a central hole, 12mm in diameter. It has aligned transverse depression on one face, which would have secured the pin holding the whorl on its staff. This conforms to Walton Rogers Form B, 900-1200AD. The larger is 30mm in diameter with a circular form and a D shaped cross section. This conforms to Walton Rogers form A1 which she dates to 500-1000AD Recorded at the Hidden Treasures roadshow in Market Harborough.

Copper alloy Nuremberg token or jetton 26mm in diamter. This is a reckoning counter and was used on 'exchequer' boards in a similar way to an abacus. This token was made by Hans Schultes in Germany between 1553 and 1574. The obverse shows the lion of St Mark, which has wings, a halo and is carrying the Gospel in his front paw. This image is enclosed by a inscribed border which is impossible to make out. The revserse shows an orb summonted by a cross. This is enclosed in a double border consisting of three triangles joined together with crescents.

This copper alloy object would have formed part of a chafing dish handle. These were used to heat food by placing dishes on charcoal or hot water contained in the chafing dish. It is 85mm long, 8mm wide and square in profile for one third of its length and 12-14mm wide and flat for the remainder. The lower, square section has one rivet hole with rivet intact in the centre, 10mm in. This would have fastened it to the side of the dish. Copper alloy figure, 44mm high and 18mm wide. The figure is a representation of the Virgin and was made at Limoges in Central France sometime bewteen 1180 and 1250. The figure would have originally been attached to a box as part of a set of holy figures. The head is solid but flattened at the back and the figure is hollow to allow for this. There is one large fixing hole towards the bottom of the figure. This would originally been in the centre, but the lower half of the figure is missing. Charles I Rose Farthing, 13mm in Diameter. The obverse shows a double arched crown with two crossed sceptres that cut across the outer inscription, alomost to the edge of the coin. The reverse shows a large stylised rose (it looks like a cartwheel) and a bordered inscription. coin badly worn so difficult to see inscription.

Circular domed mount 26mm in diameter and 5mm high. It has a border of 6mm it is deivided into two halfs one 3mm wide is plain the other half is made up of scallops facing inwards which gives a wavy line effect in the middle of the border. In the centre is a man mounted on a horse, shown in relief. The background has an orange material encrusted to its surface, perhaps the traces of some sort of enamel? 17th Century Copper alloy Button. The button is domed and 23mm in diameter. It has a small circle carved into its centre which is surrounded by parellel lines which form a cross. In each quarter of the cross a motif is repeated. Its a group of three circles, one above two, which float over a downward facing crescent. The reverse is plain and has a sturdy button loop attached. It has a black patina to it which suggests it has been coated in bitumin, which was a common practice to protect the object. It is almost identical to one in 'detector finds' by Gordon Bailey (No 25, P.19)

Copper alloy object made up of three spherical balls c. 10mm in diameter, joined together by small rods 3mm wide and c. 6mm long. The whole object is about 22mm in diameter and has been roughly cast. This is probably a strap union or junction. These are usually Roman in date but the style of this makes it more likely to be Iron Age (pers comm Dr J. D. Hill). Recorded at the Hidden Treasures roadshow in Market Harborough. A similar object has been recorded on the database at SF-3AB401.
