Roman copper alloy trumpet brooch, 37mm long, 13mm wide and 10mm thick with a weight of 5.63g. The brooch is missing all of its lower half and its spring and pin. It has an oval head plate, housing a rectangular recess for the spring and above this is a semi-circular projecting loop. The bow is D shaped in cross section and emerges from the centre of the head plate. It is decorated with a raised chevron motif near its top and it has raised collars, arranged in three groups with the largest in the centre, at its shoulder.

Roman copper alloy brooch foot, 25mm long, 7mm wide and 5mm thick with a weight of 1.71g. The foot consists of a sub triangular catch plate with a slight turn on its outer edge. This is attached to the base of a bow that is sub-triangular in cross section, having a flat reverse and a prominent central ridge running down its front.

Roman copper alloy Polden Hill bow brooch, 19mm in length, 23mm wide, with a weight of 6.59g. The brooch has short open wings decorated with vertical ridges which house a spring of 12 coils partly obscured by iron corrosion. It has a D cross sectioned bow which sits on a small rounded platform and tapers sharply. Its lower bow and catchplate are missing.

Three Roman copper alloy Polden Hill bow brooches, Upper image = 38mm in length, 16mm wide, with a weight of 6.41g. an almost complete brooch, missing its pin, with circular cross sectioned wings and a tapering bow with a raised ridge decorated with transverse incised lines. Roman copper alloy trumpet brooch. 32mm in length and 15mm in width. It weighs 3.09g. The brooch has a roughly oval shaped head with a flat area behind to house a spring, now missing. The circular cross sectioned bow emerges from the front of the head and curves around, tapering in width. Below the point it has curved is a stylised 'acanthus scroll' decoration consisting of three rounded projections, the central one larger. Below this the plain bow continues to taper and has broken before the catch plate emerges.

Three Roman copper alloy Colchester derivative, hinged type brooch fragments, dating from the period AD 50-100. All of these brooch fragments have short projecting circular cross sectioned wings with hinges. All are partial, with the D shaped cross sectioned bows of each missing their ends. One of the brooch fragments has the remnants of a pin on the back, and the other has a ridge running down the length of the bow. Roman? copper alloy penannular brooch terminal? 38mm in length, 6mm wide, 4mm thick with a weight of 2.76g. The object consists of the terminal of a probable annular brooch. It has a D shaped cross section and at its flat terminal end is 6mm wide and 4mm deep. It tapers in width to the point it has broken off and here it is 3mm wide and 2mm deep. It is very corroded so no decoration is visible.

The brooch has box like semi circular cross sectioned open wings which house a spring of six coils and a small projection in its upper centre . The bow sits on a D cross sectioned, rectangular projection and is sub rectangular in cross section, tapers to a point and has faint traces of incised lines running its length. The reverse houses the worn traces of a catch plate.
