It comprises a hollow circular tube with a stylised animal's head at one end and circular opening at the other, which has an incised collar and has been pierced transversely, with a silver pin. In the centre are two circular features, one on each side, the upper edge of which projects above the tube. Each contains a reversed V-motif inside a recessed field. Early Medieval copper alloy brooch fragment, 59mm long, 45mm wide and 4mm thick with a weight of 25.68grams. The object is a foot plate from a square headed brooch. It is sub rectangular in form and cross section. It has a straight upper edge (the middle of an extant brooch) below which are two circular depressions with raised semi-spheres inside.
