Roman copper alloy Colchester brooch, 63mm long, 26mm wide and 18mm thick. The brooch is in poor condition with a green patina and weighs 13.87 grams. It is missing its pin but has an intact spring of 10? coils. Its bow is sub triangular in section with a ridge running its length, but no other decoration is visible due to its condition. The catchplate is intact and is 24mm in length and 10mm wide. It has two perforations of differing sizes which match fig.156, 1459 in Hattatt's ancient brooches.

Early Medieval (Viking) silver Thor's hammer, 29 mm long, 21 mm wide at head and 4 mm thick. The object is T-shaped and consists of a sub-rectangular head which comes to a slight point in the centre of its upper edge, and tapers gently in width to its straight edges. This sits on a tapering shaft, sub-rectangular in cross-section, which holds the remnants of a broken suspension loop at its terminal. The head is decorated with sub-rectangular punchmarks, four arranged in a square in its centre and three in a row on each side. Three of the punches appear to have round pellets within them.

Medieval copper alloy harness mount, 26mm long, 24mm wide, 2mm thick, and weighing 7.32grams. The object appears to be rectangular in form and section and has a scalloped edge. It has been folded back on itself, but appears intact. It has at least seven small circular holes arranged around a larger central hole. It appears to have foliate style incised decoration, at least in each corner, on one face. In the centre of one edge there are two transverse suspension loops, set close together which, along with a corresponding one on another component, would have formed a hinge like suspens…

Three arms terminate in a rounded projection sitting above a circular fixing hole (one is missingthe projection) . The fourth arm is split to form two offset suspension loops with which to suspend the pendant.

The object fits into Thomas Class B, the single hole may suggest if fits the later, Anglo-Scandinavian version of this class?

The strap end fits Thomas Class A type 1

Early Medieval copper alloy strap end, 23mm long, 19mm wide and 1mm thick. The object is in fair condition with a brown patina and weighs 0.61 grams. The object is rectangular in form and section and is decorated on one side with a series of incised lines forming a border. The border contains ribbon interlace and the pattern stops over an oval motif near one end. At this point the object widens, forming a central void on that end to accomodate a strap. The ribbon interlace suggests an Anglo-Scandinavian style, perhaps a variant of Thomas class B5 or E4?

Early post medieval Copper alloy token, 16mm in diameter and 1mm thick. It commemorates the raising of the Royal standard at Nottingham on 22nd August 1642. The obverse shows a sword surrounded by the legend VICTORY AND HONOUR. The reverse shows an illustration of a large rock with the inscription FIXT ON A ROCKE. A five pointed star with central mullet breaks up the inscriptions on each side. The object is in good condition with a brownish patina and is apparently very rare.
