The object is 'shield' shaped being triangular with two curving long edges. The upper straight edge has a rectangular suspension hole in its centre and the object has a rectangular cross-section. It is stepped, with a slightly smaller upper surface and this is decorated with a lion, possibly rampant, though this is hard to confirm.
