Medieval lead alloy spindle whorl, 30mm in diameter, 15mm thick, with a weight of 64.50g.
The object is circular in form and bi-conical in cross section. The whorl is plain apart from a slight raised border at its widest point and has a central circular hole 10mm in diameter.
The whorl fits Walton Rogers form C which she dates to 1100-1500AD.

Medieval lead alloy spindle whorl, 27mm in diameter, 15mm wide with a weight of 42.19grams.
The object is circular in form and bi-conical in cross section with a central hole, 9mm in diameter. The whorl has some damage or is mis-cast on one face and is decorated on both sides with a raised design of chevrons, some which overlap and are interspersed with raised dots.
The form matches Walton Rogers form C, which she dates to the Medieval period..

Medieval lead alloy spindle whorl, 1100-1500. The spindle whorl is bi-conical with a series of raised lines and dots on both surfaces, as well as a distinct collar around the central circular hole, on both faces.
Thickness: 11 mm, diameter: 32 mm, interior diameter: 9 mm, weight: 46.86 g.

Early medieval lead alloy spindle whorl, 17mm high, 29mm in diameter and weighing 69.96grams. The object has a trapezoidal form and a circular cross section. It has a 10mm diameter central hole and a flat upper and lower surface. The sloping edges of the whorl are decorated with a series of raised lines with some projections (see second image). Although the decoration has the appearance of a runic inscription, with at least one of the motifs forming an obvious letter, the image has been shown to Professor John Hines and he has confirmed that it does not form a coherent inscription.
