Medieval copper alloy buckle plate, 33mm in length, 21mm wide, 4mm thick, with a weight of 51.42g.
The object si rectangular in form and cross section and consists of a flat plate, with a pinched collar close to one edge (right as shown). Beyond this the object forms a sub rectangular plate with a central circular hole, sitting just behind a slight central recess. On the other side of the collar the object has two raised transverse ridges and behind this is decorated with six incised lines with a few shorted diagonal ones crossing them. At the far end it is damaged but has one complete and one incomplete circular fixing holes.
The object is part of a Late Medieval lyre type buckle with integral plate.

The buckle is sub-rectangular in form and D shaped in cross section and is double looped. It has a central pin bar separating two sub circular loops. The buckle has small rounded projections at each end of the pin bar and two on each loop, at the outer 'corners' .

Late Early Medieval copper alloy buckle, 18mm in length, 17mm wide, 3mm thick with a weight of 2.49g.
The object is D shaped in form and sub circular in cross section. It is very worn but is formed of a rounded loop which terminates in zoomorphic heads with upwards projecting snouts. The slightly recessed pin sits below each head.
The buckle has excavated parallels in Winchester (Hinton in Biddle 1990, no. 1110) and Norwich (Margeson 1993, no. 127).

Late Roman copper alloy buckle, 27mm in length, 21mm wide and 4mm thick with a weight of 7.37g.
The object is sub rectangular in form and cross section. It consists of a D shaped buckle frame which is decorated with two outwards facing horses heads. These are C shaped with curved necks, sub triangular heads and small rounded projections for ears. Below the ears are dot in circle stamped eyes. The mane is picked out with a double row of circular stamps running down the edge and a single row continues across the body, just above the ridge where the projection joins the frame. The frame is recessed just between the two heads to provide a pin rest and this is flanked by a large dot in circle stamp. The sides of the frame, which have a D shaped cross section, are decorated with a central line of small triangular stamps which run to the point the buckle turns and becomes a circular cross sectioned pin bar. The pin is D shaped in cross section and is folded onto the bar and tapers to a point.

The object is rectangular in form and cross section and is one half of double looped buckle. It has a trapezoidal frame which has rounded projections at each corner and at each end of the central pin bar. Its wider outer edge has an incised line running centrally down the frame and this has a centrally placed short line, projecting out at a right angle onto a central triangular projection which acts as a pin rest. The buckle matches e.g.s. 523-25, P.84 in Whitehead, R. Buckles 1250-1850.

Two post Medieval copper alloy buckles,
The larger intact buckle measures 51mm in length, 31mm wide and 2mm thick with a weight of 10.78grams.
The smaller fragment measures 30mm in length, 28mm wide and 2mm thick with a weight of 5.54grams
Both are double looped and of an openwork form, with a series of slightly raised dots forming a border. The intact one has a series of four large and four small holes in its frame. They are both very similar and possibly the same date as the series of rectangular shoe buckles illustrated in Whitehead, R. 'Buckles' p. 80 and 85.

The opposite side has a narrow recessed circular sectioned pin bar.

The buckle matches e.g.s 322-330 in Egan, G. and Pritchard, F. Dress Accessories, c.1150-c.1450 (Medieval Finds from Excavations in London) 1991.

Medieval copper alloy buckle plate, 37mm long, 23mm wide and 2mm thick with a weight of 3.46g.
The object consists of a rectangular plate with two small incomplete rounded rectangles, which would have formed frame loops, projecting from one short edge. The object is incomplete but has a raised edge containing a stylised w beast, probably a winged griffin. It has a small circular hole in its complete corner opposite its fixing loops and this has traces of gilding around it. The decoration is probably a devolved version of YORYM-066D9E which is dated to 1200-1300AD.

Early Medieval copper alloy Borre style buckle, 30mm long, 23mm wide and 4mm thick with a weight of 3.35g.
The object consists of an oval loop with a circular cross section. This has an elongated triangular pin rest in the form of an animal head. This has a pointed snout, rounded head with rounded upwards pointing ears which merge into the buckle loop and flank a triangular recess designed to house the pin, now missing. At the opposite side there are two short sub rectangular cross sectioned shafts, c. 6mm apart which project outwards c 5mm. These have now incomplete looped terminals which would have housed an iron pin. This pin would have held the buckle pin and possibly an articulated plate see- BH-9B4B78
