Medieval or post Medieval copper alloy buckle, 40mm in length, 37mm wide and 3mm thick with a weight of 8.26g.
The buckle is a double loop type and is formed of two joining oval loops with no embellishments and has a sub rectangular cross section. These types date to 1350-1650. This eg. matches no.295, p.53 in Whitehead, R. 1996. 'Buckles 1250-1800'.

Medieval copper alloy annular buckle pin, 46mm in length, 10mm wide and 3mm thick with a weight of 3.39grams. the object is rectangular in cross section and form and is complete. It is curved at one end to form an open loop and just below this is a rectangular projection on the outer face of the pin. The sides have very clear filing marks running down them.

Medieval copper alloy buckle plate, 19mm long, 18mm wide, 4mm thick, and weighing 27grams. The object is rectangular in form and section and has a circular fixing hole in each corner. One end has a recessed rectangular projection with a central rectangular cut out. This has been folded over to form a hinge fitting and this is attached by two rivets fixed into the closest corner holes. On the upper surface of the plate, the rivets are surrounded by heavy gilding.

Medieval copper alloy buckle plate, 38mm long, 17mm wide and 2mm thick. The obejcet is in fair condition with a reddish patina and weighs 7.14grams. The object consists of a rectangular flat plate which has a slightly raised border containing two raised swirls. These are mostly surrounded by what is probably enamel. At one end the object has two curved linear projections and at the opposite end it has a circular rivet hole in each corner..

Medieval copper alloy buckle and plate, 44mm long, 18mm wide and 5mm thick. The object is in fair condition and weighs 3.52grams. The object consists of a sub circular buckle with a widened oval area under the pin rest, which is flanked by two triangular protrusions. The buckle has a recessed pain bar, whose ends have a sub-circular protrusion. The buckle is similar to examples dated to 1250-1450 by Whitehead, R. in Buckles 1250-1700.

Medieval copper alloy buckle fragment, 25mm long, 19mm wide and 2.5mm thick. The object is in fair condition and weighs 3.82grams. The object consists of a curved, rectangular sectioned plate, which is wider its broken end (centre of buckle). At the other end it widens to a sub triangular terminal which accomodated a bar, the stump of which can just be seen. The surface is decorated with an incised pattern of a solid border with transverse lines cut through by a long line with a spiral terminal.

Medieval copper alloy buckle and plate, 46mm long, 24mm wide and 3mm thick. The buckle is in fair condition and weighs 6grams. The loop is oval in form with a sub-triangular section and has a small protrusion on its outer side aligned with the pin. It has an integral plate spacer bar which is rectangular in section with protruding rectangular sectioned prongs. The pin is attached to a hole in the centre of the plate and is circular in section. The buckle matches eg 211, p26 in Whitehead, R. Buckles 1250-1800.

Medieval copper alloy asymmetrical buckle, 35mm long, 27mm wide and 5mm thick. The object is in good condition with a brown patina and weighs 11.46 grams. The buckle is made up of two parts, both with rectangular sections. The first is rectangular in form and has protruding rounded knops in each corner which have circular depressions in their upper surfaces. Rectangular Asymmetrical Copper alloy locking Buckle, 27mm long and 16mm wide,bar and pin missing. the object is plain but has an unusual profile. the hole for the pin is about one third in from the edge. From here the object thins out for about a third of its length and then widens before thinning again forming a curved edge. This dip could be functional?
