Lower Paleolithic quartzite pebble chopper-core, 78mm long, 46mm wide and 39mm thick. The stone weighs 171grams and has been worked from three angles to remove at least 9 flakes to form a triangular point which appears to have some wear. We refer to these as chopper-cores as we can't be certain whether the whole object is being used or the flakes are being used as cutting tools. The object is part of a growing number of Quartzite tools which are being found in this area. Incomplete Neolithic polished stone axe, consisting of about two-thirds of a whole axe, but missing its blade end, suggesting it was broken while in use. The axe is probably of Langdale (or Charnwood?) slate and has a pale green/grey colouring with a diagonal white stripe near the rounded butt. It has irregular faceted edges with one surface having a flattened irregular shaped area. The fragment is 85mm long, 44mm wide and 26mm thick. It is in good condition and weighs 114g.

Neolithic stone axe, 68mm long, 40mm wide and 20mm thick. The axe is in a fair condition with a dark grey patina and weighs 55.61grams. It is chipped in several places and is missing most of its blade on one side. Where it is chipped it is a pinkish colour. The blade is quite flat and the axe tapers in width from the baldes edge, terminating in a rounded tip C.10mm wide.

The axe has chip marks over its surface but the tip of the axe has been mostly finsished though, having a highly polished surface. Neolithic polished hand axe, 80mm long, 45mm wide and 20mm thick. The axe is a grey/green fine stone, which is probably from Langdale and it weighs 104 grams. The object represents the central part of a partly polished axe, each end is missing. The edges have been very neatly flattened into tapering facets and the axe shows scars possibly caused by re-shaping in antiquity.

Late Neoloithic? stone hammer or wedge, 147mm long, 57mm wide and 51mm thick. The object is an orangey brown colour and is roughly rectangular in section, with rounded edges. It tapers to a point on two sides, down to 47mm wide and 22mm thick, which forms a wedge shape. This end has some damage and is missing its original edge. The wide end is also missing part of its surface, but overall has a lighter colour and is worn. The object could be an unfinished hammer (missing the hole for the shaft) or it could be a wedge for separating trees into planks which has lost its sharp edge.

Early Neolithic stone axe, 110mm long and 55mm wide. The axe is in fair condition with patches of damage and has a grey/brown patina. The axe has faceted sides c. 10mm wide at each side. The blade has been damaged and most is missing. The surface is very finely polished and its narrow end, which has some damage, is polished to a fine point. The axe is made of Volcanic Tuff, probably from Charnwood in Leicestershire or Langdale in Cumbria.

Neolithic polished stone axe. It is 124mm long and 45mm at its widest part. It is a Langdale type 6 with squared edges and has a diagonally striped grain in the stone. The axe is 22mm wide at its narrowest and widens out to 45mm. It has a sharp dipped angle on one surface, just before its broken edge, here it has a thickness of 22mm. It has two breaking points suggesting it was damaged in the plough soil.

It is in fair condition, having sustained damage to one side. The axe has a different form on each side with one surface curving gently and the other rising steeply to give an almost triangular section. Its edges have a very shallow curve and its blade end is very rounded.
