Roman silver intaglio finger ring, 25mm in diameter and 14mm wide at bezel. The object is in good condition and weighs 12.86grams. The ring has a plain band with a D shaped section, which widens into a bezel which accommodates an oval orange carnelian? intaglio. The intaglio features a standing female figure, with a rearing animal in front, possibly representing her riding a chariot? There is a chip out of the surface just behind the figures head. I haven't been able to find this image in a reference book.
