Post Medieval silver seal matrix, 14mm long, 11mm wide and 5mm thick. The object is in fair condition and weighs 1.58grams. The object is sub- hexagonal in form and triangular in section. It has a flat plate depicting a lion rampant facing right in a slightly raised and crimped border. Its reverse is formed of 8 flat surfaces which taper to form a octagonal shaft which has broken off. There are two initials R P engraved onto this reverse surface. The object is similar to several other such seal matrices which have been dated to the late 17th century.
