Medieval silver (half?) Groat of Henry VII, 19mm in diameter, 1mm thick and weighing 1.37 grams. The coin is worn on the obverse, obliterating most of the forward facing portrait. It shows the king wearing a crown with jewelled outer arches, this points to it being a class IIIc. The reverse has a long cross and three pellets in each quarter with two lines of inscription. The inner gives the mint which is Canterbury. A barrel in the outer border dates the coin to 1493-1499. The coin has been clipped making the outer inscriptions difficult to read.
