Medieval silver gilt brooch pin, 43mm long, 5mm wide and 3mm in diameter. The object is in fair condition and weighs 1.95grams. The object consists of a circular sectioned silver pin which terminates in a small rectangular platform. Above this is a circular incomplete loop with a rectangular section which would attach the pin to the brooch. This is hidden from view by an oval plate (10mm x 6mm) which is decorated with a cruciform foliate motif and is gilded. There are also traces of gilding on the loop and shaft of the pin.
