Post medieval copper alloy spoon bowl, 43mm long, 34mm wide and 2mm thick. The object is in fair condition with a brown/black patina and weighs 6.94grams. The object represents part of the spoon bowl and has part of the oval sectioned handle attached. On the spoons underside, supporting the handle is a triangular shaped wedge and the bowl also thickens to accomodate the shaft, then narrows. there is some sort of circular motif stamped into the bowl, just below the handle.

Roman copper alloy spoon bowl, 24mm long, 21mm wide and 4mm thick. The object is in a fair condition with a green patina and weighs 3.5grams. The bowl is sub-circular in form and semi-circular in section. It has some damage to its edges and its lower side has the traces of a handle which emerges gently from the bowl and has snapped off just as it leaves the bowl.

Late Medieval/ early post medieval copper alloy spoon terminal, 35mm long, 14mm wide and 7mm thick. The object is in fair condition with a green patina and weighs 7.22grams. The terminal is in the form of an 'apostle' and consists of a male, bearded? figure wearing draped robes with his arms bent at the elbows so they are extending out in front of him. He stands on a spherical knop.

A copper alloy spoon dating to the first or second century AD. The spoon is incomplete, with only the bowl and part (approximately 10mm) of the handle surviving. The bowl is circular in shape. There is a triangular ridge on the underside of bowl from which the stem would extend. On either side of the ridge are three lines of incised dots, possibly representing foliage. The spoon can be classified as a Crummy Type 1 (Crummy 1983, p.70).

Medieval copper alloy spoon terminal? 24mm long and 8mm in diameter (at widest part). The object is in fair condition and weighs 4.03grams. The object consists of a three dimensional crowned head with flattish top, sitting above a band of three ridges, with a 4mm shaft below. The object is probably the terminal from a late medieval spoon.

An incomplete Roman copper alloy spoon handle dating to the first to third century AD. It measures 93mm long, 13mm wide and 3mm thick. The object is in a fair condition and weighs 6.57 grams. The object consists of a circular sectioned shaft which is twisted for the central third of its length and emerges from this with a rectangular section. At this end there is a 'C' shaped rectangualr sectioned protrusion, which would have held the bowl, now missing.

Post Medieval copper alloy seal headed spoon, 1500-1700AD. The spoon has an oval shaped bowl but some is missing. The spoon has a circular sectioned shaft with a 'Baluster' type terminal. This is a slightly convex disc terminal with moulded Baluster decoration below.

Roman or medieval copper alloy spoon, 160mm long and 24mm wide. The spoon is in fair condition with a green patina and weighs 19.98 grams. The Bowl which is flat and 40mm long and 10mm wide, has been made by hammering out the metal and it has folded 'shoulders' where it tapers to form the shaft. The shaft which is 3-5mm in diameter, is rectangular in section and tapers to a point.

Roman copper alloy spoon, 29mm long, 21mm wide and 4mm thick. The object is in fair condition with a green patina and weighs 2.87grams. The object consists of the central section where the handle and bowl meet. The handle has a semi-circular section with a slight ridge at each edge. This ridge continues around the edge of the bowl, which is quite shallow. Copper alloy object, 35mm long, 11mm wide and weighing 11.09 grams. The object is probably the terminal of a spoon and consists of an acorn shaped knop which is 20mm long and 11mm wide. It is decorated with spiralling diagonal incised lines. Below this is a protruding ridge 3mm wide which narrows to form a square sectioned shaft 4mm wide that has snapped off 9mmm down.

A copper alloy spoon, 57mm long, 23mm wide with a weight of 3.37 grams, dating to the first to third centuries AD. The spoon has a very fine shaft 2mm in diameter which is offset from the bowl. The bowl is circular, 23mm in diameter and is dished to a depth of 4mm. On the underside of the bowl is a triangular ridge which extends to form the stem. Fragment of a copper alloy Roman mandolin-shaped spoon, 31mm long and 21mm wide. Only half of the spoons bowl survives and it has snapped off across its width. The bowl slowly narrows to a rounded terminal which extends into the handle, which is broken off just below this point. The handle is 10mm in length and is 8mm wide. On the underside of the bowl is the remains of a rib, which is 5mm in length and extends from the handle.

A Roman copper alloy spoon dating to the second or third century AD. The spoon is incomplete, with only the bowl and part (approximately 30mm) of the stem surviving. The bowl is pear-shaped with tiny fragments chipped away at tip. The remainder of the stem is slightly curved. The object in general is in good condition, although slightly corroded. The spoon can be classified as a Crummy 2 (Crummy 1983, p. 70).

An incomplete copper alloy spoon dating to the Roman period. The fragment comprises the stem and offset which measures 42mm long, 9mm wide and 1mm thick. The object is in fair condition and weighs 3.21grams. Thestem is circular in section and has been twisted to form a rope effect. About half way this changes to a straight rectangular section stem, before terminating with a crescentic shaped offset. The corner which is aligned with the shaft is intact and terminates in a point. The spoon bowl would have sat at the other, wider end of the crescent, below the alignment of the shaft.

Post Medieval copper alloy spoon terminal, 42mm long, 12mm wide and 2mm thick with a weight of 3.92grams. The object consists of a globular terminal with a collar below and a biconal knop above. This sits above a flat plate which has rounded 'shoulders' and tapers to a point.
Several examples are recorded on the PAS database, some as Roman nail cleaners and some as spoons. They include WILT-31265C, LEIC-645F38, NMS-5DE459, LIN-0974F5, SUSS-20B743, and SF3161 Ralp Jackson has confirmed the latter one at least is not a nail cleaner.

Late Roman copper alloy 'swan necked' spoon handle, 55mm long, 12mm wide and 3mm thick. The object is in fair condition and weighs 3.56grams. The object consists of a rectangular sectioned shaft which has been twisted repeatedly along its length for decorative effect. At one end it flattens and terminates in a triangular point. Above this is a C shaped plate, curving upwards and away from the shaft. This terminates in two ragged protrusions, where it would have attached to the bowl..

Copper-alloy Roman spoon. Most of the bowl is missing but what remains is attached to the handle by a crescent shaped lug. This lug is decorated with vertical ridges where it is attached to the handle. The top of this lug is either broken or has a scalloped edge. The handle has a flat rectangular section where it joins the lug with possible transverse ridges as decoration.The handle, which is rectangular in section, tapers to a blunt end. It is similar to WMID-E02190.
