Medieval copper alloy dagger chape 23mm long, 8mm wide and 4mm thick. the object is in fair condition with a green patina and weighs 1.31 grams. The object is triangular in form and semi-spherical in section. It is hollow and of even thickness and terminates with a spherical knop. It appears to be missing half, though the terminal looks intact and is flattened just above the knop as though to accomodate somnething? The most obvious purpose is a dagger chape or other protective terminal?

Medieval copper alloy dagger scabbard chape, 65mm long, 26mm wide and 3mm thick. The object is in fair condition with a dark green patina and weighs 8.32grams. The object is sub triangular in form with one straight edge and one long curved edge which meets a diagonally aligned upper edge. The upper edge is decorated with a row of semi circular protrusions, below which are three circular holes of differing size. Below these is a raised border which runs diagonally along the object. It has rounded edges and its pointed base has a spherical knop terminal.

Early medieval copper-alloy pyramidal mount from a sword-scabbard, 16mm high and 15mm wide. It consists of a hollow pyramid with slightly turned-in lower corners forming a vertical lower wall. Its open base has an integral narrow rectangular strip or bar running across its centre, which would probably have held a strap. The surface of the pyramid has traces of gilding on each face, suggesting it once covered the whole object. Late Medieval? copper alloy chape, 52mm long, 14mm in diameter with a weight of 14.42 grams. The object is formed of a tapering cylinder whose sides are about 1mm thick. The upper, wider end has a raised collar which is decorated with a band of three incised lines. The only other decoration is at the far end where the object bulges out to form a rounded terminal about 4mm high. The whole object has traces of a blakened surface which has worn away and now has a green corroded patina. The object is either a large cord tag or a small dagger scabbard fitting.

Medieval copper alloy sword chape, 17mm high, 21mm wide and 6mm thick The object is in fair condition with a green patina and weighs 4.50grams. The chape is trapezoidal in form with the narrower end, 15mm wide, making up the base. It is made from one piece which has been folded over to form the two sides. The front is decorated with radiating incised lines and has a shaped upper edge, with a rounded knop at each end of a horizontal edge which has a small circular cut out in the centre. The reverse echoes the same form but it is missing about half of its area, this is also plain.

Late medieval copper alloy Scabbard Chape , 48mm high and 32mm wide. This item would have been attached to the end of a scabbard. This object consists of a rounded triangular shape with three fleur de lys motifs creating a pattern across the top edge, below which are cut out circles forming a pattern. Below this, about a third of the way down the chape, is a horizontal line in relief. Below this, in the centre of the object, is a cut out slit about 16mm long which terminates in a trefoil motif. The object is completed by a small knob at the base.
