Roman copper alloy hairpin, 55mm long and 5mm in diameter. The object is in good condition with a brown patina and weighs 5.06grams. The pin tapers gently from a sharp point, which is 1mm in diameter, to its shoulder where it has a semi-circular recess, above which is a sub shperical knop with a pointed terminal.

The object is spherical with a slightly flat plain area. It is quite badly worn and has traces of both silver and gold on its surface which appears to form a pattern. The object is probably Medieval or later in date, but is difficult to be certain due to the damage.

Roman? copper alloy hair pin, 58mm long, 4mm wide and 4mm thick. The object is in fair condition with a brown patina and weighs 4.54 grams. The object is circular in section and of uniform width. It is incomplete and is bent near its current end. The terminal is decorated with an ovoid end which sits above a rectangular sectioned area, about 15mm in length, which bulges slightly at its centre. below this the object is decorated with three incised horizontal lines and below this it changes from a rectangular to a circular section.

Early medieval copper alloy pin, 38mm long, 15mm wide and 3.5mm thick. It is in fair condition with a weight of 4.09grams. The object consists of a plate of metal which has been rolled to form a circular sectioned shaft. At the top of the shaft the metal has been split into two strips which have been rolled to form two spirals. These then meet creating a 'love heart' shaped terminal with a void below the spirals. Pins like this are rare. Helen Geake has identified this as a Ross type LXVI. These do not begin before the seventh century. They continue into the late Anglo-Saxon period…

The head is sub-circular in form with many facets, arranged so when viewed from any side there is a central flat lozenge with four facets sloping away. Each facet is decorated with an incised dot and circle. The shaft is circular in section and is 3mm in diameter at its top tapering in width slightly. The object has a rectangular sectioned head which consists of a rectangle base with a sub rectangular protrusion above it. This terminates with a shallow pyramid with a circular knop at its pinnacle. Roman copper alloy pin, 43mm long and 2mm in diameter (shaft). The object is in good condition with a dark green patina and weighs 2.53 grams. It has a head made up of rectangular, triangular and hexagonal surfaces, all of which have been roughly executed. Where this joins the shaft there is a roughly made collar. The whole of the surface has a series of file marks running diagonally along it. The shaft is circular and has broken off cleanly.
