Medieval iron caltrop? 42mm long and 41mm wide. The object is in fair condition with a brown patina and weighs 47.14grams. The object consists of six rectangular sectioned spikes which are arranged so that it appears cross shaped when viewed from any angle. Only two spikes are intact and measure 15 and 20mm long with a width of around 8mm. A caltrop usually has four spikes but this appears to have the same function.
