The object consists of a sub-rectangular plate, which has a circular hole and transverse ridge at one end and a circular-sectioned fragment of frame protruding at right angles at the other. Roman copper alloy buckle fragment, 36mm long, 24mm wide and 5mm thick. The object is in fair condition with a blackish/blue patina and weighs 12.29 grams. The object is oval in form with a sub-triangular section. In form it consists of a shallow curve which has wide terminals that fold back on themselves. Copper alloy shoe or knee buckle, 25mm long and 16mm wide. The buckle is dated 1660-1720 and were used largely as decoration. It is slightly rounded overall to curve around the body. It is rectangular in shape and has semi-circular protrusions on each side. The buckle is decorated with radiating incised lines on these protrusions. Copper alloy sword buckle with loop present, 38mm high (11mm of which is the loop) and 32mm wide. The buckle has an oblong form with bulging and flattened sides. The buckle is undecorated and is damaged in several places. These buckles used to suspend a sword from a belt and were common in the 15th and 16th centuries, but had disappeared by C.1630.

Copper alloy sub rectangular one piece buckle, 24x24mm. The buckle has a round strap bar 3mm in diamteter, which is attached to the frame with wide domed terminals. From here the buckle is D shaped in profile, the outside edge of the upper and lower part curves outwards sharply and then turns inward to form the shoulders. From here it curves and flattens and towards the centre it widens into an oval. Georgian copper-alloy two-piece shoe buckle, 47mm long and 42mm wide. The buckle has four roundels, one in the centre of each side; in between these the frame is beaded. In each corner triangular shapes make up pointed terminals. The holes that would have held the missing bar are filled with iron corrosion. It is very similar to no. 675 in Ross Whitehead's book 'Buckles 1250-1800'.

The object consists of a slightly oval buckle loop with a pointed central pin rest which is integrally attached to a spacer frame. This consists of a solid plate from which emerge two rectangular sectioned tapering prongs (one now missing). The object has a circular hole near the edge of the buckle through which is threaded a semi-circular sectioned pin.
