Early Medieval copper alloy bird shaped mount, 35mm long, 20mm wide and 14mm thick with a weight of 11.84g. The bird is three dimensional and has a rounded head with triangular beak. It has iron? circular eyes and a linear 'mouth'. It has a short circular cross sectioned neck which widens into an inverse triangular shaped, oval cross sectioned, body. This tapers to pointed tail and has wings picked out in slight relief on each side. At the 'apex' of the triangle are two short circular cross sectioned legs, which appear incomplete and one has a recessed section for half its length. …

Early Medieval copper alloy brooch fragment, 34mm long 12mm wide and 4mm thick with a weight of 5.72g. The object is rectangular in form and cross section and forms the upper part of the bow of a cruciform or small long brooch and consists of one half which is plain and has a bowed form with a rounded upper surface. The second half is flat and rectangular with slight traces of probable lappets to each side. The reverse of this houses a centrally placed, sub rectangular catch plate.

Left to right in photo L W T Wgt 17 15 6 2.42 30 28 6 32.43 These were found together and not far away form other signs of metal working recorded as LEIC-99FD63 which suggest signs of metal processing.
