Two Late Medieval copper alloy annular brooches. The frames have a circular section with a circular sectioned pin which is attached by a loop formed of its end. The first is 42mm in diameter with a narrower width at 4mm and weighs 11.31 grams. This example has a pronounced rectangular section at the neck of the pin. The second (lower photo) is 48mm in diameter, 5mm wide and weighs 33.5 grams. It has no decoration.

It consists of one half of an annular brooch which has a semi-circular section with circular depressions (three present) in its upper surface. It is similar in form to eg.1317 in Egan and Pritchard, 'Dress Accessories'.

The object is sub rectangular in form and section and consists of two semi-circular sectioned arms which merge together and then begin to seperate again. At this point the object has a solid 'plate' between the two arms and it turns C. 45 degrees. It has a semi-circular edge which contains a circular fixing hole. It is slightly curved and at one end widens out before tapering to a point. The object is probably a very corroded Pestle from a cosmetic set, its form is very similar to one of the cover of Jackson, R. 'Cosmetic sets of late Iron age and Roman Britain' type 286b?
