The object is circular in form and sub rectangular in cross section and appears to have ben filed on one surface. Objects such as this are difficult to date, but are known from the Bronze age onwards.

A Roman date is most likely as the object comes from a dense scatter of such material.

Undated copper alloy ring, 4mm wide. 2.5mm thick and 16mm in diameter with a weight of 2.74grams. The outer face is divided into two by a central depression with a rounded linear surface which continues down the side with the inner surafce being flat. This suggets two circular sectioned rings joined together. The function of this object is unknwon. It may be a large finger ring? or another type of decorative ring. It could date from the Bronze age onwards.
