Post Medieval copper alloy buckle, 24mm in length, 24mm wide and 2mm thick with a weight of 3.58g.
The object is rectangular in form and cross section and is one half of double looped buckle. It has a trapezoidal frame which has rounded projections at each corner and at each end of the central pin bar. Its wider outer edge has an incised line running centrally down the frame and this has a centrally placed short line, projecting out at a right angle onto a central triangular projection which acts as a pin rest. The buckle matches e.g.s. 523-25, P.84 in Whitehead, R. Buckles 1250-1850.

Two post Medieval copper alloy buckles,
The larger intact buckle measures 51mm in length, 31mm wide and 2mm thick with a weight of 10.78grams.
The smaller fragment measures 30mm in length, 28mm wide and 2mm thick with a weight of 5.54grams
Both are double looped and of an openwork form, with a series of slightly raised dots forming a border. The intact one has a series of four large and four small holes in its frame. They are both very similar and possibly the same date as the series of rectangular shoe buckles illustrated in Whitehead, R. 'Buckles' p. 80 and 85.

Medieval copper alloy buckle, 20mm in length, 16mm wide and 4mm thick with a weight of 1.62grams.
The buckle has a sub-rectangular form and cross section and is intact, except for the pin. It has an oval frame with a sub rectangular cross section and a wide flat outer edge which has a recessed inner portion to allow for a roller, now missing, and slight triangular projections at each edge. The opposite side has a narrow recessed circular sectioned pin bar.

The buckle is sub circular in form and rectangular in cross section. It has a single sub-circular loop with a D shaped section and it has two small rectangular projections, with a triangular cross section, flanking the short pin rest. The pin is wrapped around the bar and has a D shaped cross section and tapers to a point.

Medieval copper alloy buckle and integral spacer plate, 36mm in length, 22mm wide and 2mm thick with a weight of 3.64grams.
The object is sub rectangular in form and rectangular in cross section. It consists of a single oval loop with pointed pin rest and a circular cross section, which is attached to a spacer plate formed of two sub rectangular tapering arms. The buckle matches e.g.s 322-330 in Egan, G. and Pritchard, F. Dress Accessories, c.1150-c.1450 (Medieval Finds from Excavations in London) 1991.

Late Medieval copper alloy stirrup shaped buckle frame, 27mm long, 17mm wide and 4mm thick with a weight of 1.51 g. The buckle is a single loop, D-shaped buckle with decorative knop extending from the curved edge. The knop has a single narrow collar and is flat on the reverse side. The strap bar is recessed and the pin is missing. Similar to DENO-08D511. Several similar examples are illustrated in the Meols report (Griffiths et al. 2007, 94, no.622ff).

Medieval copper alloy buckle with integral frame, 48mm long, 23mm wide and 4mm thick with a weight of 7.05grams . The buckle is oval in form and has a rectangular cross section, its only decoration is a protruding triangular pin rest. The loop is attached to two tapering rectangular cross sectioned prongs, placed either side of the pin recess. These would have held a decorated plate, the object dates to 1250-1450.

Medieval copper alloy annular buckle pin, 34mm long, 10mm wide and 4mm thick. The object is in fair condition and weighs 2.29 grams. It has a rectangular section at its curved end, where it would have wrapped around the brooch. This changes to a circular section along its shaft and is marked by a small rectangular platform which protrudes from the surface just behind the end of the curved hook section.

Medieval copper alloy rectangular buckle plate. The object consists of one half of a folded plate. There are two rivet holes at one end, with one intact rivet. At the opposite end there is a semi-circular recess which would have accomodated the pin.
The shape suggests a late medieval date, as per Whitehead. R, Buckles 1250-1800.

The object is rectangular in form and section and has a sub rectangular recess flanked by rectangular protrusions at one end to accommodate the buckle loop and pin. It has a incised border on one side which contains a decorative motif, possibly an animal. Also within this area are four circular rivet holes.

Incomplete Roman copper-alloy buckle pin, 26mm long, 23mm wide and 3mm deep. The object consists of a sub-rectangular sectioned bar which has two curved arms protruding from the centre, one from each side . Where the four arms meet there is a recessed circle with two concentric raised circles inside; this could alternatively be described as a ring-and-dot motif with two grooved concentric circles around a central dot.
The other two arms are straight when seen from above. One thickens markedly and is decorated with a a single incised transverse line near the (broken) edge. The other…

Late Roman copper alloy belt buckle, 27mm long, 3.5mm thick. The object is in fair condition and weighs 3.78grams. The object consists of a curved loop formed of two dolphin heads, with heads facing each other, their mouths forming the pin rest. The dolphins have raised rounded areas for heads with an incised circular eye. The horse heads emerge from the top of the dolphin heads and face outwards. The horses are plainly decorated with a series of short lines forming the mane and small dot and ring incised eyes. The decoration is very similar to Appels & Laycock, p210. figure SL8.19a.
