Medieval copper alloy buckle component, 22mm in length, 18mm wide and 6mm thick with a weight of 3.44grams. The object consists of a sub-circular (incomplete?) flat plate with a pointed projection at opposing ends. The plate has five projecting spherical attachments, arranged in a cruciform pattern, which are attached by short shafts through the plate. Both sides of the plate has traces of gilding. The object is the central 'disc' of a disc on pin buckle and is missing its projecting shafts, one would terminate in a loop and hold it to the buckle frame and the other would act as a pin…
