A copper-alloy buckle frame probably dating to the late sixteenth to eighteenth century AD. The buckle frame is rectangular in plan with a central circular-section bar. The head of the object comprises a small spherical knop surmounting a flattened disc that is circular in plan. From the centre of the underside of the disc extends a circular-sectioned integral shank which is now broken but was once connected to the second fragment. An incomplete copper-alloy Colchester derivative, double pierced lug, Harlow type brooch, dating from the mid to late 1st century AD. The wings consist of a horizontal sub-rectangular bar beneath two perforated lugs which would have held in place the now-missing spring. The uppermost lug extends to a central crest which tapers into the trapezoidal-sectioned bow. The sides of the bow are straight and converge towards a squared-off foot, on the underside of which are the remains of a catchplate. The object is a fitting from a sword belt or baldrick fitting and possesses a cast hemispherical hollow body. The upper terminal consists of a single ribbed collar extending to a sub-trapezoidal knop with a small central circular perforation surmounted by another small spherical knop. An incomplete copper-alloy single loop Medieval buckle frame dating to the period c. AD 1250-1400. The buckle frame is D-shaped in plan with a widened outside edge. This outside bar narrows to the pin bar, which is slightly recessed, with a lug protruding at one end. The pin is missing but there is a small slightly worn section where it attached to the centre of the pin bar. The buckle frame measures 16mm in length, 11.5mm in width and is 2mm thick. It weighs 1.2 grams. See Egan and Pritchard 1991, p. 70, fig. 42, no. 274 for a similar example.

The buckle plate comprises two sheets that are rectangular in plan that would have been joined at one end where the two folds are now broken. There are four rivet holds, two at each end, one with a copper-alloy circular-section rivet securing the two plates together. The buckle plate measures 48.5mm in length, 16mm in width and is a maximum of 4mm in thickness. It weighs 6.21 grams.

The obverse shows the upper part of a shield of France with a couronelle above and an M alongside a fleur-de-lis to each side. Legend: +IOIE.DES[...]REV:S. The reverse has a triple stranded straight cross fleuretty in a simple four-arched tressure around a double-rosette. The jetton was probably minted in Paris and measures 25mm in diameter and 1mm thick. It weighs 0.71 grams. Mitchener 1988, p. 193, no. 531a.
