A fragment of a tinned copper-alloy object, possibly the catchplate from a Continental Knee brooch (Mackreth Type 5.1b KNEE) dating to the late second or third century AD. The fragment comprises a flat, triangular plate, terminating at one end in a small hook and expanding at the other to form a wider rectangular plate, now broken. The fragment measures 18mm in length, 18mm in width and has a thickness of 1mm. Compare with hooks on Nos. 7676 and 7592 illustrated by Mackreth (2011, 134, Plate 131).
