A late Anglo-Saxon cast silver strap-end on the back of which is scratched a Runic inscription. The strap-end is incomplete and slightly bent. The attachment end is missing and there is some loss to the animal-headed terminal, at the snout. Part of the rear surface (and therefore part of the runic inscription) is also lost; see separate report in Discussion below. A fragment of the terminal from an Anglo-Scandinavian copper-alloy strap end (of Thomas class G) in the form of a sinuous creature seen in side view. The head has a lip lappet, large eyes and prominent ears. The creature is curled into a double looped scroll with its nose touching its tail. There appear to be interlacing elements where the body crosses. The split attachment terminal has been lost. The creature is in the Urnes style which was prevalent in England during the second half of the 11th century.

A copper alloy early medieval strap end dating to the 9th century. The strap end has a debased head with the ears behind; the neck is slightly waisted. On the curving body is a six-sided panel which contains a sinuous interlacing beast whose tale ends in a scroll and whose head looks forward to the left, the mouth agape. A leg and foot can be seen adjacent to the lower part of the frame. The decoration has been inalid with what appears to have been niello, though now rather degraded. The bifurcated attachment end is a little broken.

A fragment of a medieval copper alloy strap end; the terminal is missing and the complete strap end would have been of composite construction. What survives is part of one plate which is slightly tapering and has a hollow attachment end with a circular aperture and two rivet holes. The plate is inscribed with a panel containing black letter script but this is difficult to read. What seems to be present are the letter lb[...]. The field between the letters is infilled with zigzags. The reverse is covered in file marks arranged diagonally.

A probable medieval cast copper alloy strap end comprising a single sheet metal plate with a single rivet. On the back appears to be solder for attachment to a separate plate. The terminal is of uneven spatulate form and this projects from a tapering element with a hollow end where the rivet sits. The tapering element has a pair of linear borders which enclose what appears to be rough lettering (perhaps WM). An incomplete cast silver-strap-end, partially gilded and with niello inlay. The fragment comprises the terminal of the strap-end, totalling approximately one-third to one-half of the original object.
