Description:A late medieval (15th century) gold posy finger ring with an inscription which reads, in black letter: x cest mon desir (this is my wish). The ring is slightly distorted, but complete. The three words are spaced equally around the band and sit within lentoid expansions of two narrow ribs which encircle the ring. A fragment of a silver ring of uncertain date, but probably in the range c.AD1400-c.1650. It is unclear which part of the ring survives. A Medieval copper-alloy spanning hook from a crossbow. The object has a thickened hooked terminal with signs of wear at one end of a shaft which tapers to a prominent collar with a single narrow ridge on each side. On the other side of the collar is a triangular loop, now incomplete and distorted, with a flat inner face. The object has a dark green patina with a pitted surface. A medieval silver-gilt annular brooch. The brooch has a projection in the form of a pair of praying hands. The frame has a low triangular section. The frame has a recessed bar for the missing pin, and two flat platforms each with a raised saltire. This is a well known form of medieval brooch. They occur in gold (usually with inscriptions), silver-gilt and, of lesser quality with cruder detail, in copper alloy. The decorated platforms on this example can be paralleled by CAM-1F5971.
