A medieval cast copper alloy buckle frame. The frame is single looped and ornate, with two integrally cast right angled projections on the shoulders of the outer edge and a rectangular projection in the centre, grooved for the pin. The strap bar is offset and the lateral edges are waisted in the centre and terminate in moulded triangular 'feet' at the end of the strap bar. The front of the buckle frame is rounded and the reverse is flat. The buckle frame measures 17.77 mm long, 29.8 mm wide, 2.35 mm thick and weighs 3.3 grams. It has a dark green patina.

A cast copper-alloy medieval buckle frame. The frame has a sub-triangular outer edge with shouldered projection in the centre. There are three shallow grooves for the pin. The strap bar is circular in section and slightly offset from the frame. The front is very slightly rounded whilst the reverse is flat. It measures 20.27 mm long, 28.52 mm wide, 2.98 mm thick and weighs 3.8 grams. It has an abraded green patina.

An incomplete copper-alloy double looped buckle frame of early post-medieval date, probably 16th to 17th century. Only a little over half of the buckle frame remains and almost one whole loop is missing. The remaining loop is sub-oval in shape (D-shaped), rounded on the front and flat on the reverse. It is very worn but slight grooves for the pin to rest are visible on the remaining outer edge. The buckle has an abraded green patina.

A complete copper alloy sub chape and pin from a two-piece buckle, of Post medieval dating (c.1660 to c. 1720). The chape of the anchor type, with a curved terminal (Whitehead Chape type II). The pin is triangular in plan. The chape & pin are a mid green to mid brown colour with an uneven surface patina. Abrasion, caused by movement whilst within the plough soil, has resulted in a loss of some of the original surface patina. The buckle measures 25.92mm in length, 13.88mm wide and 2.91mm thick. The buckle is oval looped and has a small oval integral plate which terminates in a circular knop which has an integrally cast rivet/stud on the reverse for attachment. There is a circular hole for the pin, now missing. The surface patina is missing through abrasion and corrosion. The buckle measures 26.26 mm long, 14.1 mm wide, 2.65 mm thick and weighs 2.1 grams.

The buckle is of Meols class 10 (Griffiths et al 2007, page 84; figure 2.5.1), single looped with offset strap bar, outward facing corner prongs on the terminal and six transverse grooves on the outside edge. A cast copper-alloy medieval buckle frame. The buckle is distinctive with a curved frame which has five deep rabbets at each end. There is a bifid knop at each end of the strap bar which is set back from the frame. There is lateral and transverse decoration on the outer edge of each loop. The buckle measures 33.47 mm long (rabbet edge to rabbet edge), 43.91 mm wide and 7.57 mm thick. It weighs 31.7 grams. It is slightly worn but in good condition and has a dark green patina.
