Sprung copper alloy Dolphin brooch. Hexagonal sectioned bow with a pair of median grooves along its back from the head to foot, tapering slightly towards foot which has a flat, blunt terminal, most of catch-plate survives. 'C' sectioned wings with one transverse and one diagonal line on each, hook and part of wings filled with iron corrosion from (missing) pin. Length 35mm, width 16mm. 1st century AD.

Pilgrim badge. Poorly cast copper alloy depicting the Virgin and Child within the horns of a crescent. The Virgin is shown from the waist up, her head surrounded by a glory, her right hand is raised in blessing, her hair falls over her left shoulder and she is possibly holding a sceptre. A silver annular brooch. Hoop 6.5mm wide curved/angled sheet with slight rim around outside edge, semicircular piercing for `D' sectioned pin, which is cracked across the frame. Similar to an example from Riddlesworth (2002 T40, TAR 2002, fig 78). The brooch dates to the 14th century. Brooches were pinned at the neck to fasten two parts of the clothing together or used purely decoratively, by both men and women.

Circular sectioned frame, very distorted and now in two pieces with four equally spaced and separately made knops each of which encloses the frame and is decorated on two thirds of the surface with closely spaced and overlapping stamped annulets. A similar knop surrounds the shank of the pin next to the loop. See Dress Accessories (2002) fig. 163 no. 1330 and 1333. The brooch dates to the 13th - 14th century.

Gold puzzle ring in the form of two linked rings, now distorted, of square section, each with a twist at one point where there are also signs of wear. This is almost certainly a puzzle ring, usually formed of multiple hoops, secured with a central twist, often forming the bezel. A puzzle ring with only two hoops is unusual, but given the damage is is possible that the ring is not complete. Original internal diameter of each ring c. 20mm. Section 1 x 1mm.

Tiny gold Roman finger ring, probably for a child. Damaged along the edges. Faceted band divided into nine oval segments, each with a median arris. At seven of the constrictions between segments are two transverse engraved lines, presumably missing from the other two due to wear.

Part of an unusual rectangular buckle frame made from cut and folded thick sheet, with a (missing) separate central bar. The outside edge, all of one side and part of another are extant. The inside edge would have been an iron spindle within a sheet roller, set into holes through the two sides. A copper alloy quillon collar for a small sword. With a rectangular socket, which is sub-oval externally, with part of one side and the edge of the socket missing. Thickened around mouth of each socket. There are two curved, quillon-like projections on opposite sides, similar in shape to flattened dolphin or bird heads. Traces of moulded or engraved, worn decoration, and gilding, survive. Socket measures 14mm x 8mm internally. Length 30mm, width including projections 39mm.
