Double patard of Charles the Bold, for Flanders, c.1467-74. Double patards were exactly equivalent to English groats and were made legal tender in England and Wales in 1469. They show up in hoards down to the 1530s and presumably finally disappeared during the Henrician debasements of the early 1540s.
