The mount is of domed, sexfoil form with two separate rivets and central hole (with a maximum width of 13.3mm, an overall depth (including rivets) of 4.3mm, a depth (not including rivets) of 2.6mm, a thickness of 0.2mm and a weight of 0.4g). Each the petals of the sexfoil are formed by pressed radiating grooves. At the centre is a raised boss with an off-centre aperture (of 3.4mm diameter). The coin was identified by Edward Besly as a contemporary copy. This might be due to it being underweight, but otherwise the coin appears to be official.

The roman coin, Q-Radiate, is of Allectus In Britain (AD 293-6) (Reece Period 14), (VIRTVS AVG), Galley left with mast, cabin and unclear crew; no waves. RIC V, pt 2, p. 569, cf. no. 128. This coin has been considered for Sam Moorhead's corpus for RIC.
