Medieval copper alloy belt mount of late 13th to mid 15th century date
The mount is of domed, sexfoil form with two separate rivets and central hole (with a maximum width of 13.3mm, an overall depth (including rivets) of 4.3mm, a depth (not including rivets) of 2.6mm, a thickness of 0.2mm and a weight of 0.4g). Each the petals of the sexfoil are formed by pressed radiating grooves. At the centre is a raised boss with an off-centre aperture (of 3.4mm diameter). Ref: See C.M. Almeida do Amaral, Catalogo descritivo das moedas Portuguesas (Lisbon 1977); p.315, nos 958ff. Edward Besly comments that there are few ceitils from English find spots, though the ceitils of Duarte's successor Afonso V (1438-81) are very common finds all across South Wales.

A corroded copper-alloy medieval Portuguese coin; a ceitil of Duarte I (1433 - 1438) minted in Lisbon. It is 21.3 mm in diameter and 0.7mm thick. It weighs 0.68gm. The coin is very thin and corroded probably because it was found on a beach. See C.M. Almeida do Amaral, Catalogo descritivo das moedas Portuguesas (Lisbon 1977); p.315, nos 958ff. Edward Besly comments that there are few ceitils from English find spots, though the ceitils of Duarte's successor Afonso V (1438-81) are very common finds all across S Wales.

Medieval annular brooch frame, probably of 13th or 14th century date
The frame is complete although the surface has been lost. The frame is circular with a diameter of 16.6mm (internal diameter of 11.6mm), a thickness of 1.5mm and weighs 0.7g. The rear of the frame is bevelled and plain. The pin restriction has a width of 2.1mm and the bar has a diameter of 1.7mm. The opposite side of the frame has no notch for the pin. A probably irregular medieval copper-alloy English jetton. Agnus dei type depicting a lamb and flag, Berry type 10, Mernick reference 6c.2.2 var., dating to c. 1300-c. 1350. Mint uncertain.
See Berry (1974, 63; pl. 4, no. 10) for the general type; Mernick considers it probably unofficial. The reverse has not been documented by Mernick; it is close to his reverse 2, but has different border ornamentation.
