The find comprises six post-medieval English coins, of Elizabeth I and Charles I, with a face value at the time of £0 10s 6d; as received at Amgueddfa Cymru, they appear to have been cleaned. No associated objects were reported. The find represents a small, but typical assemblage from the period of the 'English' Civil War, with the coins worn through circulation roughly in proportion to their age when lost or deposited. The latest Tower coins are from 1641-3, but the group is to be dated by the Chester coin, which allowing for the effects of cleaning is in fresh condition. A roy…
