On the face of the button are five oval flower petals, with a pellet in between, all arranged around a central domed boss. The button shares similarities with those in Read (2005) pp.75-6 and 84-6, for which he suggests a late 16th century - 18th century date.

~~Copper alloy Polden Hill type brooch with Hod Hill influence. Rearward facing lugs on either end of the wings which held the spring support bar which is now missing resulting in the loss of the spring and pin. The top half of the bow consists of a curved undecorated rectangular plate with expanded knop corners on the bottom edge. A central knop on the bottom edge would have lead onto the lower part of the leg but this is now truncated. Date 80-120AD

Copper alloy Langton Down brooch, this has tubular wings that wrap around the spring encompassing it within a cylinder, the spring is now missing. The bow is a flat sub-rectangular cross-section bar that is truncated just below the head resulting in the loss of most of its length, the front of the brooch may have been decorated with a series of vertical lines but any detail has been removed by corrosion. Date AD 25-60.
