A complete Medieval copper alloy coin weight. The reverse is plain while the obverse appears to depict a fleur-de-lys. Withers & Withers (1995:33) suggest that the fleur-de-lis was used in both England and France for a florin between c. AD 1350 and c. AD 1550. Similar coin weights have been recorded on the PAS database as WILT -71944E, PUBLIC-B75613, FAKL-54FE02 and IOW-F9C601.

A complete Medieval copper alloy seal matrix in the shape of a shield, depicting a shield of Arms. viz: Within a beaded border, Paly of three (unidentified), impaling three garbs (wheatsheafs) 2 and 1 (unidentifed). The inscription appears to read 'S' IOHIS DE [VHATB.R' (Seal of John of ....). The arms appear to be joined (paly) with another, showing a marriage. Garbs were popular heraldic devices during the 13th and 14th century and it has not been possible to identify the arms of the seal owner. An impression of the matrix may help this.-

A complete Post Medieval copper alloy dress hook. It is triangular in plan with three semi-globular projections, two at the top and one at the bottom. The lobes are decorated with ropework and annulets in applied filigree style. The reverse has a horizontal loop at the top and the bottom has a bent pointed hook. Dress hooks of similar form have been reported in recent years under the Treasure Act 1996. Prompted by the reporting of these artefacts through the Treasure Act (1996) Gaimster et al (2002) wrote an article discussing them, and dating the dress hooks to the 16th century. In …
