A lead pot mend broadly dating from the Roman to the Medieval period. The object has a flat sub-circular head and a recessed groove extending to a globular protrusion on the reverse. No remains of the ceramic fabric are visible in the groove.

A cast lead bird cage trough or feeder. The vessel is almost complete but very distorted, and would originally have been D-shaped in section, flaring from the base. The flanged rim may have been damaged. These bird troughs date to the 16th -17th century. The metal surface is worn and the lead has gone a light whitish-grey colour and the surface is very powdery.

A cast copper alloy fragment of a chafing dish dating to the later Medieval period. The object consists of an integral support which projects upwards and a small fragment of the rim. The dish support is sub-rectangular in plan and trapezoidal in cross-section. On the lower face of the rim fragment is a circumferential groove. File marks are visible on each face of the object.
Lewis (1973, p63-4) describes the type of vessel which he calls type B: "These vessels are cast in one piece and finished on the lathe. The only decorative features are single or double incised girth lines. …

An incomplete copper-alloy vessel leg of medieval to post-Medieval date.
The surviving piece is sub-rectangular in plan, retaining only its straight right-hand side, and with irregular breaks on the other three sides. The leg is of flat section and there is a longitudindal ridge near to the left-hand side of the upper surface.

A rim sherd from a copper-alloy plate or dish, dating from the post-Medieval period.
The wall of the vessel forms an angle of approximately 45 degrees, with the rim itself being around 20 degrees. A moulded ridge, flanked by a pair of grooves, is located on the outer face of the vessel, near the base of the rim. On the inner wall there are two light grooves, which may be evidence of lathe finishing. Jagged edges form the three broken sides of the piece.

The sub-rectangular sherd has two decorative bands of horizontal grooves on its outer surface, and the curvature is consistent with an upright vessel. The fabric is mid grey with a light grey core and is sand tempered. The edges of the sherd arerelatively unabraded.

The base of a Roman greyware pottery dish.
The flat base has a flat-bottomed footring on its underside, inside which are grooves from the wheel-throwing process. The sides angle upwards atapproximately 30 degrees. Of the two broken edges on these sides, one is abraded, whereas the other appears to be relatively recent. The fabric is mid-grey and smooth-surfaced, with no visible inclusions.
