An Iron Age gold quarter stater of Tasciovanus of the Catuvellauni tribe and dating from c. 20 BC - AD 10. Obverse shows TASC inside quad with lines above and below and an 'O' to the right. Reverse shows a winged horse (Pegasus) left, pellet in front. See Rudd, C. Ancient British Coinage cf. no.2601. Also see Hobbs, R. A gold finger-ring with a stone setting and filigree decoration. The finger-ring has been made by cutting out its shape from a sheet of gold. It consists of a lozenge-shaped bezel and a narrow band that tapers out from the two side-points of the bezel. The band has been broken or cut open and flattened out, but bent at both terminals. In the centre of the bezel is an oval-shaped gold collet, not integral but a separate component that has been soldered into place. A circa 2nd to 3rd century AD gold pendant, ovoid, set with a blue-grey glass paste intaglio, very worn, pitted and devitrified. The setting has a central rib and all that remains of the attachment is a single gold filigree loop. The intaglio depicts a robed seated figure facing right, holding a sceptre in his right hand and an uncertain object in the left. The figure may represent Jupiter but is too worn to be certain. An incomplete, Medieval, gold finger ring, AD.1200-1500. The ring band has a D shaped cross section that has decoration all around it. There are five evenly spaced quatrefoil flowers around the band. Between the flowers are parallel zig-zags with rows of triangular indentations along the edges of the band. The bezel of the ring is triangular with a deep setting for a stone, now missing. A small flat cut strip or scrap of gold with no decoration or diagnostic features. This was considered as a possible treasure item because it was gold. The following specialists have said that it is not proveably more than 300 years old and so does not qualify as treasure. A slightly bent Early Medieval gold mount, probably part of a larger composite object. The object is flattish and sub-triangular in shape with a straight base and two concave sides. The two lower corners are pointed and the upper corner is rounded. A slightly bent 16th-17th century gold toothpick/earscoop. The pick would probably have been sickle-shaped. It emerged from the body of a stylised dragon, shaped to serve as a handle. Each side of the body is marked with incised lines that represent scales. A small spoon-shaped earscoop emerges from the dragon's mouth, as if to form the dragon's tongue with the bowl facing downwards. Roman gold finger ring set with an intaglio. The hoop is rather worn and distorted, but is made up of a flat and wide band of metal, broadly circular in profile, which expands to triangular shoulders. The flattened bezel has an ovoid box setting soldered to it, which contains a dark grey stone intaglio (probably nicolo).
