A Medieval mount, slightly bent out of shape in the centre. The mount is lozenge-shaped. It is engraved with the scene of the Annunciation. The Archangel Gabriel kneels on the left, in salutation to the Virgin Mary, who is praying at a lectern on the right. They are separated by a vase containing a lily, the symbol of the Virgin. Above the pair is the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove. Each corner of the mount is perforated by a small hole, which was its means of attachment to whatever object it decorated.
