Pewter pilgrim's ampulla. This elaborate example is a Canterbury souvenir relating to Thomas Becket and probably dating to circa 1170-1220. The ampulla is damaged (there is a hole near the base) and slightly bent out of shape. Areas of both sides are encrusted with corrosion or attached minerals, obscuring some of the detail of the decoration. However one side depicts an ecclesiastical figure (perhaps Becket?) above a quatrefoil design perhaps representing a flower.
