A probably complete, but now squashed, gold finger-ring (mourning ring) of early- to mid-18th-century date. It has a rectangular bezel for a now missing setting. The bezel's long sides have been squashed in. The exterior is decorated with a pair of grooves that run all around. The hoop remains attached at one end of the bezel, but has been folded and partially torn at the junction, but has become detached at the other. Gold ring, formed of a small thin hoop of circular section, decorated all over with engraved cross-hatching containing traces of black enamel. In the absence of anything comparable in the collections this is a difficult piece to place. It may be a fitting of some kind rather than a finger-ring.

This gold ring has a thin flat hoop of even width, inscribed When + this + you + see + remember + mee This is a popular inscription recorded by Joan Evans, in English Posies and Posy Rings (Oxford 1931) in various versions from the late 16th century onwards. The lettering could be late 17th or 18th century, but in the absence of any other identifying features there is not enough evidence to date it pre 1704.

Plain gold band, scratched and worn, with the inscription: true love is the bond of peace. The inscription is recorded by Joan Evans (1931) in a late 16th century manuscript and the lettering is consistent with a 17th century date, but we know that 17th century lettering style continued well into the 18th century from the British Museum's dated sequence of mourning rings. In the absence of marks or any distinguishing decorative feature there is no firm evidence to date this pre 1704.

Gold finger ring with a D-section hoop. The flat inside is engraved with the inscription ‘my love is true to none But you’ followed by the letters RW and then the makers mark JC. The initials RW are presumably the giver of the ring (Judy Rudoe, 2021, Pers comm) which is followed by the Markers Mark which is presumably JC. A gold ring in the form of a thin plain band with reeded edges, inscribed inside: Much les then your desart. The style of the lettering suggests a date in the 17th century. An enamelled gold barrel-shaped link of late 18th to early 19th Century dating. This gold link bears traces of blue, green and white enamel forming a pattern of white dots in the centre flanked by a blue band and a wreath in green. A gold Post-Medieval finger-ring with external relief decoration. The decoration consists of a delicate geometric design, which may have once held enamel. The interior of the finger-ring bears the inscription 'A FRENDES GYFT' in upper case. Discussion: This finger-ring may have once held enamel, there are 3 similar examples in the British Museum's collection (1961.1202.130, 1961.1202.459 and 2003.0506.1), one of which still retains the original enamel (2003.0506.1).

A gold posy ring. The outer hoop is plain and the finger-ring is D-shaped in section. The inner hoop bears a two line inscription in upper-case '+ REMEMBER HIM WHOM THIS DID GEVE/ WHO YELDES HIS HART WHILES HE DOTH LEVE'.
