Gilt silver Medieval bar-mount from a belt or strap. This form of bar-mount was relatively long-lived and dates from the late 12th century through to the early 15th century (Egan 1991, p13). The mount has central and end lobes and is missing one end lobe, which has broken around the perforation. The bar has a D-shaped section and the bar and end lobes are plain. The larger central lobe is decorated with incised diagonal lines around irregularly placed punched circular pellets.
