Possibly medieval lead standing weight, very roughly circular at the base and tapering upwards to a flattened terminal with a transverse 2mm-diameter perforation. The surface of the base makes it clear that the object was not cast but rolled and hammered into shape from a piece of thick sheet. Height 24.5mm. Basal diameter 12 – 15mm. Weight 19.26g. This does not correlate with either the Troy (0.619oz) or Avoirdupois systems (0.679oz). Perhaps 13th – 15th century.
